Salvador Rodriguez

Salvador Rodriguez is a tech reporter for the San Francisco bureau of Reuters. He covers the enterprise software and cloud computing markets with a special focus on a variety of companies, including Microsoft, Salesforce and Oracle. Rodriguez has previously covered the tech industry for Inc. Magazine, the International Business Times and the Los Angeles Times, and he has contributed pieces to Vice, Digital Trends and the Federal Times, among others.

A trilingual journalist, Rodriguez was born in Mexico, grew up in Texas and received his journalism training at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in Phoenix. There, he earned his master's and bachelor's degrees in journalism and completed a specialization in business reporting. During his college years, Rodriguez interned for the New York Times in Arizona, the Arizona Republic and the Houston Chronicle.

Rodriguez is also a publisher of the Downtown Devil, an online publication he co-founded in early 2009 and led as managing editor for nearly three years. As a student, Rodriguez was selected as a 2011 Chips Quinn Scholar, and in 2010 he was chosen to participate in the New York Times Student Journalism Institute.
